Thus, the dedication to transforming a piece of wood into a unique artistic object full of content and identity is materialized thanks to the change of focus of the construction method, where the coexistence of traditional techniques with current possibilities, applied on a reduced scale, opens a window of innovation, to generate a differentiating style and language, in the elaboration of contemporary craftsmanship of excellence developed by the author.
METHOD
From a constructive point of view, the author has chosen to take traditional techniques to unusual or critical dimensions, along with adapting tools and instruments that are perhaps less “orthodox” but effective, with the aim of exploring a new constructive and expressive threshold in wood.
To this end, the artist’s design experience has allowed him to articulate an original method and construction language capable of generating a universe of unique works. Each figure has meaning both individually and as part of a whole, thus enabling the creation of larger scenes or landscapes alluding to our territory.
PAINTING
For the painting and decorating stage, non-toxic acrylic paints, varnishes, and surface treatment and sealing paints are primarily used. Applications are made with a wide range of brushes, seeking different finishes and adaptations to achieve specific effects. Expressiveness and spontaneity are prioritized over realism, utilizing the dot, the brushstroke, and the line determined by the brush itself and its paint load. This allows for the creation of layered effects with visual textures to achieve distinctive and unique finishes for each piece.
